Course Outline
This course is for people who want the skills and knowledge to be able to operate a mini excavator.
During this course, you will gain knowledge and understanding of:
- How to operate the mini excavator safely and productively
- Fitting and operating ancillary equipment
- Carrying out minor adjustments and routine servicing procedures
- Understanding the capabilities, purposes and limitations of each machine
- Following the necessary safety precautions
- How to interpret the information provided by level pegs and profiles
- How to carry out necessary routine adjustments and service procedures
- Working to levels with the aid of laser equipment
From the completion of this course, you will receive a CPCS Trained Operator Card (red card) and a CITB National Construction College certificate.

Learning will take place over 10 days.
