Course Outline
This is a two-day training course that will qualify you as a mental health first aider.
This course will provide you with knowledge and understanding of:
- Mental health and the factors that can affect wellbeing
- The skills needed to spot signs of mental health issues
- How to give support and reassurance to a person who is in distress
- Interpersonal skills such as non-judgmental listening
- The support that is available and how to help someone
Upon completion of this course you will receive:
- A certificate
- A manual which you can refer to
- A reference card for the mental health first aid action plan
- A workbook and toolkit to support your own mental health
Delivery mode
Learning will take place over 4 sessions during the two days, through a mix of presentations, workshops and group discussions.
