Course Outline
This course is designed to help users understand the legal application and identify, select, inspect and fit all varieties of wheel on a variety of handheld cut off saws.
This course will provide you with knowledge and understanding of:
- A basic understanding of the industry, your responsibilities as an operator and the dangers of working in the industry
- You will develop working knowledge of the manufacturer's handbook and be familiar with other sources of information available including relevant legislation
- Locating and identifying the major components of the machine and how to explain their functions
- How to conduct all pre-operational checks in accordance with manufacturers and legislative requirements
- Identify and maintain PPE appropriate for the petrol driven cut off saw
- How to select the suitable type of blade for the work being undertaken
- Conducting all necessary safety checks at the work area and how to set up a safety zone
- Prepare the machine for use and operate it safely and efficiently
- Environmental considerations
- How to store and transport the petrol-driven cut off saw
- Carrying out all end of shift and shut down procedures
From completing this course you will be awarded an NPORS traditional card.
