NPORS – Compact Crane (N140)

Course Outline
This course is for people who need the skills and knowledge to operate a compact crane safely and productively.
This course will provide you with knowledge and understanding of:
- Locating and identifying the major components of the machine and be able to explain their functions
- Having a working knowledge of the manufacturer’s handbook for the machine that is being used
- Having a basic understanding of the industry, your responsibilities as an operator and the dangers of working in the industry
- Identifying and maintaining PPE that is appropriate for compact crane use
- Setting up an exclusion zone
- Locating and identifying key controls and be able to explain their functions
- Environmental considerations
- Preparing the compact crane for use and operating the machine safely and effectively
- Conducting all pre-operational and running checks in accordance with manufacturer’s and legislative requirements
- Carrying out all end of work and shut down procedures
You will upon passing receive an NPORS Operator card. If you require the CSCS logo on the card, this will be a Red Trained Operator NPORS-CSCS card. If you don’t require the CSCS logo, this will be a traditional NPORS card.
