Course Outline
This course is for people who need the skills and knowledge to operate a piling rig.
During this course, you will gain knowledge and understanding of:
- Understanding the industry, the dangers of working in the industry and their responsibilities as an operator
- Having a working knowledge of the manufacturer’s handbook for the particular machine to be used
- Locating and identifying the major components of the machine and be able to explain their functions
- Locating and identifying key controls and explain their functions.
- Conducting all pre-operational checks in accordance with manufacturer requirements
- Selecting the type of Piling Rig that is suitable for the work being undertaken
- Identifying and maintaining PPE appropriate for Piling Rig use
- Preparing the Piling Rig for use
- Conducting all necessary safety checks at the work area
- Operating machinery safely and efficiently
- Environmental considerations
- Being able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of loading and unloading procedures for machine transportation
- Carry out all end of shift and shut down procedures
From the completion of this course, you will gain an NPORS Operator Card (Traditional); this card is valid for 3 years.
