Course Outline
This course is for operators who are not required to operate plant machinery to its full capacity. Operators will train how to move plant machinery – non-operational duties.
This course will provide you with knowledge and understanding of:
- Having a basic understanding of the industry, your responsibilities as an operator and the dangers of working in the industry
- Having a working knowledge of the manufacturer’s handbook for the machine that is being used
- Locating and identifying the major components of the machine and be able to explain their functions
- Locating and identifying key controls and be able to explain their functions
- Conducting all pre-operational checks in accordance with manufacturer’s and legislative requirements
- Identifying and maintaining PPE that is appropriate for plant mover use
- Preparing machinery for use and operating machinery safely and effectively
- Conducting all necessary safety checks at the work area
- Environmental considerations
- Storing and transporting machinery attachments
- Demonstrating knowledge and understanding of loading and unloading procedures for transporting machinery
- Carrying out all end of shift and shut down procedures
You will upon passing receive an NPORS Operator card. If you require the CSCS logo on the card, this will be a Red Trained Operator NPORS-CSCS card. If you don’t require the CSCS logo, this will be a traditional NPORS card.
