NPORS – Vehicle Marshal (N403)
The Sheffield College is proud to have partnered with Van-Elle Ltd to deliver first-class construction services training courses for businesses and individuals.
Course Outline
This course is for those who need the knowledge and skills to be a vehicle marshal.
This course will provide you with knowledge and understanding of:
- Gaining a basic understanding of the industry, your responsibilities as a vehicle marshal and the dangers of working in the industry
- Gaining knowledge of the manufacturer’s handbook for the particular vehicle/machine
- Achieving a good understanding of signs and signals, approved hand signals and different forms of communication
- Identifying and maintaining PPE that is appropriate for vehicle marshal duties
- Conducting all necessary safety checks at the work area including stop blocks and tipping areas
- Setting up exclusion zones for unloading
- Guiding machinery in a forward and reverse direction including confined spaces and “blind areas” safely and efficiently
- Environmental considerations
- Carrying out all end of shift and shut down procedures
You will upon passing receive an NPORS Operator card. If you require the CSCS logo on the card, this will be a Red Trained Operator NPORS-CSCS card. If you do not require the CSCS logo, this will be a traditional NPORS card.
